Junior Overnight Programs

Juniors arrive on Friday to earn a badge, look through telescopes (weather permitting) and take a night hike around Creekfield Lake. On Saturday morning, they will have the opportunity to take a simulated space flight aboard the SS Observer at the Challenger Learning Center. Girls will need to bring simple no-cook snacks and breakfast. Don’t miss out on this cool adventure. It’s out this world!

Houston Arboretum Nature Center

Naturalists will lead Girl Scouts through activities to complete requirements for the Wildlife Junior Badge. Girls will learn techniques to identify birds and reptiles, become familiar with characteristics of poison ivy and venomous snakes and Texas endangered animals through participation in hands-on activities, nature tours, demonstrations, a service project and completion of a workbook.

Explore the trails with the nocturnal animals through a guided night hike, gaze at the stars through a telescope, roast marshmallows over an open fire. Indoor camping provided in the auditorium or tent camping near May’s Pond.
