Fund Development
Supporters provide brighter futures for tomorrow’s leaders

The Fund Development/Brand Management Department solicits donations from corporations, foundations, and individuals to assure that Girl Scouting is available for all girls and to provide financial means for Girl Scout programs.
Supporters may honor others in Girl Scouting in several ways: donations to one of the Council’s many funds, an engraved brick on the Promise Path at Camp Agnes Arnold, or a plaque at Camp Casa Mare. Women may join The Emerald Circle, a social and service group, which supports Girl Scouting through its membership fees.
Donate on-line to any of the Council funds at www.gssjc.org.

Congratulations Dream, Dare, Do Graduates

by Iska Rushing

The inaugural class of Dream, Dare, Do graduated on March 7. Mary Vitek, GSSJC chief executive officer, and Judy Lawton, Emerald Circle member, welcomed honorees and congratulated them on their successful completion of the class.

Congratulations to the graduates: Karen, Julia, Elizabeth, Emily, Natasha, Lauren, Katelan, Cheryl, Claire, Joanna, Kirsty, Amy, Erica, Nikole, and Ashley.

This exciting program taught Seniors valuable leadership skills through monthly workshops and professional guidance. Because of tremendous evaluations from the participants and the mentors, the program will repeat in its same format in Fall 2004. “Thanks to Cathy Wining-Thomas for her devotion to the program’s success,” said Emerald Circle President Sara Walker.

Special appreciation goes to the session leaders: Stacey Anderson, Jane Erskine, Judy Lawton, Sally Reynolds, Sandy Staton, Jill Oliver, Sabrina Watkins, Sherron Watkins, and Donna Fisher. Graduates received Roxy doll key chains which were donated by 2GRRRLS.
For more information on this opportunity for Seniors and on information for applying for the Fall 2004 class, see the story in the Program section.
