2004 Aquatic Weekends

Learn canoeing or sailing or first aid or swimming or lifeguarding or the many other activities at Camp Casa Mare to be held July 30-August 1 and August 6-8. This is your chance to get certifications in preparation for the new Girl Scout year. Explore the many new class offerings. Make it a family event–there is something for all ages from Daisies through adults.

Who: Daisy Girl Scouts - adults
When: July 30-August 1 AND August 6-8 (See individual class listing for specific times and dates)
Where: Camp Casa Mare, Seabrook
Register: Send Program Registration Form and fees to GSSJC, 3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098. If you are registering more than one person or a troop, list individual participant’s name, address, and telephone number so a confirmation letter and materials can be sent to them
directly. Make checks payable to GSSJC. Add your e-mail to registration form.

General information

REGISTER EARLY as space is limited. Registrations will be placed as received. An information/confirmation letter and/or study guide will be sent upon registration via e-mail. If you don’t receive registration information one week prior to camp, call to have one sent.

  • ALL students MUST stay at camp if the course lasts two or more days. All meals are provided.
  • Volunteer to be a dorm mom! Call or e-mail Karen Penewitt.
  • Books may be purchased at any Red Cross office, 713-526-8300, the Girl Scout Center, or Imperial Valley Service Center, 281-447-8870.
  • NOTE: NO GSSJC Safe Boating Tests will be given at camp (except for Swim Strokes Workshops). However all participants must satisfactorily complete the Red Cross small craft swim test at the beginning of any of the boating courses. Bring a shirt, pants, and shoes to wear in the water. Safe Boating Test cards can be given by any currently certified lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor.
  • Bring copies of certifications to camp.
  • An adult leader needs to stay with each registering Daisy and Brownie group/troop for the following courses: Skip Jack Stories, Whales Tales, and Tunis’ Tales. Individuals registering do not need an adult. Only people registered in a class will be permitted to stay.
  • No tagalongs!
