GSSJC History Committee presents
Juliette’s Tea Party

When: Brownies: Saturday, August 7
9 a.m. – noon (check in at 8:30 a.m.)
Juniors: Sunday, August 8
1:30–4:30 p.m. (check in at 1 p.m.)

Where: Houston Girl Scout Center

Cost: $4 per girl (includes patch)

Bring: Permission slip, medical form, and a camera (for a photo op with “Juliette Low”)

Activities: Learn about Victorian etiquette and manners, enjoy tea and cake, make something special to take home, play games typical of Juliette’s era, meet “Juliette Low!”

Wear: Party clothes or Victorian costume (gloves and hat optional)

Limit: 125 girls per session

During the event, there will be a separate program available for the leaders who wish to stay. Please drop off and pick up girls (along with their permission slips and medical forms) at the registration area.

Senior Program Aides: Would you like to earn service hours by helping teach games, crafts, or etiquette to Brownies and Juniors? Would you like to learn about some of the early activities from Girl Scouting? Call for information about volunteering!

 


“DREAM, DARE, DO–An Experiment in Leadership”
The Emerald Circle and GSSJC’s Program Department are teaming up for a leadership program

Who: Senior Girl Scouts who have earned the Silver Award

What: Girls can learn leadership skills within the context of Girl Scouts. Six sessions are planned with the following topics: Type and Temperament Analysis, Social Skills, Leading an Authentic Life, Ethics and Values, Networking, and Setting and Reaching Goals.

When: First Sunday of the month from 2-4:30 p.m.; Sept. 5,
Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, and Mar. 6
