to be the prince, greeted her and whisked her out onto the dance floor. The elegant couple danced in front of the ballroom guests and smiles magical spread to every glowing face. This new guest was very enchanting and she looked so familiar to the girls. In fact, she looked like Sable, only all grown-up, just like them. There was silence as the two love birds danced, seeming to make the music as they moved. Suddenly, the large clock on the ballroom wall struck midnight and just like in “Cinderella,” Sable ran off leaving her glass shoe behind. Lexus and Jenny ran after her, but they were too late.

“Let’s go home girls, the ball is over,” said the snippy woman.
“No way!” said Jenny.
“My mother taught me never to go anywhere with strangers!” yelled Lexus as she and Jenny ran back to the closet door. As they ran they could hear the woman behind them screaming angry words of some kind, but they paid her no heed. The girls dashed in and slammed the closet door.

The two girls rushed back through the attic knocking over stacks of towels. They undressed themselves from the fairy tale gowns, which for some reason came off quite easily, and ran out of the attic. Clambering out of the towel closet, they rushed downstairs.

“There you guys are, where did you go?”
“What are you talking about Sable, you went to that rich party too!” said Lexus in astonishment.
“I didn’t go anywhere, I stayed down here picking up the spilled popcorn.”
“Huh?” The girls looked at each other puzzled.
“I think you guys need some rest,” said Sable.
“Yeah, I think we do,” mumbled Jenny as she nodded.

“All right, put the movie case on the table,” said Sable, crawling into her sleeping bag. Lexus grabbed the case and was about to lay it on the wooden table when something caught her eye. The Cinderella

on the movie case was Sable! Lexus showed Jenny the box and Jenny noticed it too. They poked Sable until she finally peeped out of her sleeping bag at the movie case.
“You guys really, really, need some sleep if you think that’s me!” Sable replied.

“No way, Sable that looks just...” Jenny paused as she looked at the box and noticed Cinderella was a cartoon figure again. Lexus gazed at the box and noticed the face had changed. They shook their heads in disbelief and began unzipping their sleeping bags for sleep.

“We’re sorry for making you clean up the mess,” murmured Jenny.
“Yeah, we were acting just like the two stepsisters in Cinderella,” said Lexus apologetically. Lexus and Jenny looked towards the attic together, then zipped themselves up nice and snug in their sleeping bags. Just before they dropped off to sleep, they could have sworn they heard a waltz playing upstairs.
