Archery

Archery Instructor School

Archery is one of the most popular activities for troops camping at Council camps. To meet this increasing demand, the Council offers adults an opportunity to become a certified Level 1 national archery instructor. In addition to teaching other girls throughout Council, instructors can also schedule the archery range for their troops or area events. Bring food for lunch, drinks, pencil, and paper. All hours must be taken to receive credit for the course. Participants MUST be 17 years old or older.

Bullseye

Individual and troop archery instruction is offered at Camps Casa Mare, Misty Meadows, Silver Springs, Robinwood, Agnes Arnold, and Whispering Pines. Instruction is based upon individual skills level and prior experience. Brownies through Seniors can participate. No prerequisites are necessary. Troops that are camping or willing to take a day trip should consider taking part in this exciting activity.

The Bullseye program continues to grow and the activity includes a program patch or rocker for each girl who participates. If this is a girl's first time to participate in a Bullseye session she will receive a patch. Girls who have already participated in the Bullseye program will receive a rocker to begin to build their own "Bullseye." Once your troop has participated in the event, contact Nicole McInnes at 713-292-0353 or nmcinnes@sjgs.org to have patches mailed.
