is a "destination?"
A "destination"
is any travel experience, regardless of distance or length of time, which
provides a girl 12-17 with an opportunity to expand her personal experience
beyond her everyday scope.
Girls can travel
to new places, explore career possibilities, form new friendships, try
wilderness expeditions, enhances challenges and interests, and just have
fun!
Destinations 2004
is totally online. All destinations events are posted on the STUDIO 2B
Web site within the ESCAPE section (www.studio2b.org). The Web site not
only contains information about all of the national and international
destination choices, but it also contains additional travel information
including:
The
application and reference forms, which you can download;
- Tips for writing
the application essays; and
- Tips for choosing
a personal experience

The
application for national and international events will be combined for
2004 events. Also, applicants are required to have only two letters of
recommendation:
- One from a Girl
Scout adult who has worked closely with you (no relatives). This could
be your advisor, an event leader, a camp counselor, or trainer.
- One from an adult
who has worked with you in the community, such as a teacher, religious
instructor, supervisor, or employer (no friends of the family or peers).
Application and
References Deadline
ALL original applications
and references are to be received at the Girl Scout Center, located at
3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098 no later than 5 p.m. on Friday,
November 7.
Please bring or
mail original applications; do not fax. GSUSA will only accept the original
